This entry is by no means a review of different sites. It's just me blogging about what I've found during my lonely boring early morning sojourn through every corner of the blogosphere.

A little hello :)

Hi everybody!

Thanks Waz for giving the opportunity to contribute to morisien mwa. You know what, I’m always proud of saying “mo morisien mwa”! I love this country and I’m of course a bit sad of leaving in February… but that’s life… Nous avons besoins de racines et d’ailes. No matter how strongly attached we are to home, I guess we must all leave one day. I hope that this blog becomes popular among mauritians around the globe. I’m not really inspired today, but I really wanted to say my first hello to morisien mwa readers.
See ya all!

invisibility cloak!?!

Supposedly, a group of scientists have been able to create some sort of a device that offers invisibility to a given electromagnetic wave. Fascinating huh!?! Soon, Harry Potter's invisibility coat may not be fiction anymore! :D

wat r some of our contributors up to?

In Kaz's list of priorities, blogging has yet to acquire a highly esteemed status. In fact, it is that one online activity that he has so far been reluctant to participate in. Yet, surprisingly, he does impart us with some well-thought and highly inspiring comments that are diligently mixed with specific dose of humor or sarcasm. These inevitably offer us a glimpse of the blogger he can be n at the same time, leaving us on a "cliffhanger" note: Will he blog? Will he be back to comment more? Why does he take so long to update his space?

I have to admit that's an interesting strategy I haven't thought of! lol :P Anywayz, on the otherhand when he does blog, everything seems to come to an abrupt stop for possibly even God does come over to have a read through.
Unfortunately, zis time his latest blog entry is not an original post of his and as such suffers from a severe lack of his personal signature way of satirising life in general. Nevertheless, for once, he has at least taken upon himself to bless us with a blog update to his space. So, if you are interested, then enjoy Licking Envelopes.

Meanwhile, it will appear that I've contaminated our beloved M&M with the latest highly resistant bug that has lately been responsible for severe blogorrhea! :P
She has been busy blogging about Google latest services (see Google strike), Chris Isaak and Katie Melua (unfortunately, the last two blog entries are part of her strictly private blog. so no permalinks for these). Also, she has been updating her youtube playlist (see here). Busy lady!!! :D

As for Sibemol, well, humor remains indisputably his blogging domain! See Recueil de conneries for your laughing pleasure(beware! call your doc if you can't stop laughing! also, the blog is entirely in french!)

Some of his quotes that has had me roflmao:

- C'est quand on pense que le pire nous est arrivé que la belle mère sonne à la porte!

- Voler les idées d'une personne c'est du plagiat; voler les idées d'un groupe c'est de la recherche.

- L'intelligence Artificielle n'a aucune chance en face de la Stupidité Naturelle

Last but not least, Rai may well be joining us as another contributor to morisien mwa! Ooo-rah!!!

The more the merrier, right!?! :)

Happy Blog to all!!!

what the heck is web 2.0 ?

Doesn't it bother you that when you go over a blog entry, you come up with a term which the author has failed to define/ explain given that from up there, where he is blogging he has this Godly omnipotent and omniscient belief (as to border absurd arrogance) that his readers know what he is babbling about!?!

Well, yes, it does bother me! It bothers me so much that at times when I blog I usually link that particular word/ term to another webpage that does explain what I want to convey. Or simply, at the bottom of me blog, I'll insert a paragraph with the required information. What does all this have to do with web 2.o then!?! This, i.e. web 2.0, is actually that particular term that has been irking me for a while because I haven't been able to figure out what the hell the author is alluding to. I know of a web but so far, my knowledge has been limited to basic programming/ net navigation and simple boreblogging. I'm not your all out 100% balls-to-bones geek material and I'm not an undergraduate/ postgrad computer science student. As such, I'm not really cognizent in all the mumbo jumbo terms associated with the web, programming or even computers. It's but by mere coincidence that I've started to blog. And programming, so far, remains as a hobby.

So, what the heck is web 2.0!?!

I've been googling it. And in my not so humble opinion, O'Reilly offers the most detailed, easily readable and comprehensible statement on this (see what is web 2.0?). And yesterday, I've ended searching it on wikipedia (follow this link for the article) and loe and behold, wikipedia also refers to O'Reilly.

In me own words (from the perspective of a non-professional, if it's of any worth), web 2.0 is basically about what I'm doing right now, i.e. blogging, sharing links, uploading pics, etc. The whole concept is about how the web has suddenly morphed into a more user oriented environment within which it's us, the netizens, who rule. In web 2.0, it's actually the users who decide what is good/ bad and what has to be prioritised! We, and not the multibillion companies, are movers and shakers. Ooh-ray!!! :D

Web 2.0 is the why blogging and online social networks are the current fad. It is either the raison d'etre or the result of sites like flickr.com, del.icio.us and others. The interest in freewares, sharewares and peer-to-peer data exchange is web 2.0. It is everything that is currently empowering the user in doing what he/she wants! That's awesome, huh!?!

How is that for an abstract!?! Now, I'm happy for I've learned something new! If you are still in the dark or want more in-depth info, then follow these linkz: 1) what is web 2.0? 2) wikipedia article: here.
